From
1st September 2011 the Carnival Chronicle and
Wessex Carnivals website merged, thus creating The Carnival Times,
the largest carnival
website in the world, and we
now
proudly bring you the Devon, Somerset and Wessex Carnivals, with
those from further afield, together on The Carnival Times, with the six co-owners amassing 141 years
of
taking part in
carnivals in the South West of England.
We
have improved our layout to make it easier for our visitors to
navigate the site, we originally started in 2000 as the Carnival
Chronicle for both Carnivalites and non Carnivalites a a reminder
of Carnivals
past and present,
the
Carnival Chronicle and its associated websites include history,
photographs and results, from the East, South and Devon
Carnivals, Somerset County Guy Fawkes
Carnivals,
South Somerset, and
Wessex Circuits.
The
Carnival scene in Somerset will change dramatically from 2012, with
Bridgwater Carnival changing to a Saturday and the next carnival,
the following Friday at Weston-super-Mare,
then
it is back to normal with the remainder of the circuit. It may well have the opposite effect with entries
starting at North Petherton, due the rising costs of fuel and club
members being
unable to take time off from their work place.
We
have 007,556 images online with more being added each week as more
sections are rebuilt and brought back on line, from 2013 we will be
adding movies from selected carnivals.
All
updates to this website can be found through the updates
section via the link in the menu bar above. Thank you for your continuing support, it
really does make everything worthwhile.
The
Carnival Times is solely funded by it's owners, we do not deprive
Carnival Committee's of valuable revenue, by selling Carnival
related merchandise.
